Philosophy of Worship
What is your philosophy of worship?

My philosophy and how I teach about worship comes from Psalm 5: “Every morning I lay out the pieces of my life on Your altar and watch for fire to descend.” “Every Morning” – This means that I should do this constantly and consistently. That it’s more than coming to church on Sunday and singing. But it’s a posture I should have daily. “I lay out the pieces of my life” – This is being honest with where you’re at. Not trying to put something together yourself, but laying them out to allow God to place them together in a way that honors him. “On your altar” – When you have the pieces to lay out, where do you put them? It’s so easy to place them on an altar that we have control over. One that brings purpose, or comfort. Pleasure or power. But the Lord invites us to offer it up to him. The Romans 12 kind of worship. “Watch for fire to descend.” – This is about waiting on the Lord. And not just waiting, but watching. He’ll show up, and maybe in ways you’re weren’t expecting or planning. We’re invited to wait and watch to see what God does. Not just for his glory, but for our benefit.

Ideal Relationship with Lead Pastor
How would you describe the ideal relationship between senior/lead pastor and worship leader?

One that’s built on friendship and trust. Ministry is grueling, and if you don’t have someone in your life who can help you, as well as call things out, you miss out of things the Lord could be trying to work in you.
