Philosophy of Worship
What is your philosophy of worship?

I believe that music is a gift from God, and as such, should be given back to Him as an offering. Visions of heaven are depicted in Isaiah 6, Ezekiel 1, and Revelation 4. In all three visions, all of the angels and creations of heaven are circled around the throne of Jesus, singing and shouting praises to Him, and placing offerings at His feet. Worship is clearly an important part of the Kingdom of God, and music is an integral part of worship. I strive to make worship through music relatable to our daily walk with Christ and use songs as an educational tool to teach and solidify our theology. When congregants have a fuller theological understanding of God, they are often moved to worship with emotion and purpose. I also believe it is important to try to create an atmosphere of worship that is most conducive to sacrificial worship of God. Worship should also be an authentic expression of God’s work in our lives. One of the most powerful tools given to us is our testimony, and in worship ministry, it is all too easy to weaken that testimony by shrouding it in excessive metaphor. Worship should be honest, specific, and accessible to everyone.

Ideal Relationship with Lead Pastor
How would you describe the ideal relationship between senior/lead pastor and worship leader?

The ideal senior pastor for me would be the right combination of pastor, mentor, and friend. I want to learn from the wisdom of my senior leadership in order to grow as a better leader myself. I also want the trust and comradery that comes with being friends in ministry.
