River Rock Church is a SBC church located in a beach town called Ponte Verda, FL, just south of Jacksonville, FL. The church is led by Lead Pastor Chris Price who has been the pastor since 2014, though the church just recently became their own autonomous church in 2022. Attendance on Sundays averages around 500 in person each week. Currently, the church offers two services: 9:30am and 11:00am on Sunday mornings. The two Sunday morning services are identical, offering a modern worship style. Currently the church owns their own office building and is meeting portably in an elementary school on Sunday mornings, but owns 21 acres of vacant land and plans to start building their own permanent facility by the end of 2023.

St. Johns County offers some of the top public schools in the state, and is one of the fastest growing counties in the entire country. The church holds a huge value in community and discipleship throughout the week, as well as highly engaging worship services on Sunday mornings. 

The church is seeking the right candidate to take over as the new Worship Minister to oversee their worship ministry. The right candidate will have a deep personal life in Christ and the character and capacity that align with the church’s overall mission and vision. Below are the qualifications and responsibilities Froot Group and the church have identified for this role:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain an authentic and growing relationship with Jesus Christ through the on-going daily spiritual disciplines of reading the Bible, prayer, personal worship, and involvement in the life of the church.
• Work in partnership with the Lead Pastor to develop and implement quality worship experiences centered on a central theme for each week.
• Oversee, coordinate and lead the congregation in corporate worship on Sunday mornings. 
• Recruit, lead, train, care for, and grow worship and production teams.
• Develop a leadership pipeline and development team of musicians and production volunteers.
• Oversee worship set-up and tear down on a weekly basis and train others how to effectively set-up and tear down the equipment.
• Coordinate special worship events including worship nights, Christmas Eve services, and other special events. 
• Care for and maintain worship related equipment throughout the church including sound, lighting, and audio-visual equipment.
• As a minister of the church, provide specific pastoral care for the worship team along with general pastoral care assigned by the Lead Pastor or Associate Pastor.
• Continue to work to expand and enhance the worship ministry that fulfill the church’s vision.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Follower of Christ and has a lifestyle that demonstrates obedience to Him.
• Commitment to a daily devotional time that includes prayer and God’s Word.
• Has a passion for leading worship, leading and developing a team of volunteers, and solid administrative abilities.
• A creative-minded person that has a desire to think outside of the box. 
• Excellent in leading vocally and preferably with either guitar or piano.
• Relationally engaging with others.
• Able to create and sustain a strong volunteer culture.
• Experience using Planning Center Online, ProPresenter, and other related softwares.
• Has a working knowledge of running tracks through either Ableton, Prime, Playback, etc.

• Experience
  • Preferred candidates will have 2 – 4 years of relative experience leading worship.
