Anthony leads with directness, spiritual authority, and a clear vision for where Northwest is going. The right Worship Pastor doesn't just tolerate that — they thrive under it. They're someone who finds freedom in a strong leader rather than feeling constrained by one.
Anthony thinks theologically and precisely. He plans sermon series a year in advance and is methodical about building understanding over time. The ideal Worship Pastor matches that intentionality — coming to the table prepared, having done their homework, and ready to align the worship experience with where Anthony is taking the congregation spiritually. This isn't a role for someone who wings it week to week.
At the same time, Anthony values collaboration and genuinely incorporates input. The right candidate isn't passive — they bring thoughtful, well-reasoned creative contributions and can articulate the "why" behind their musical and worship choices. Anthony responds well to people who think deeply and communicate clearly. He doesn't need to be the smartest person in the room, but he does need to trust that the people around him are operating with spiritual seriousness and pastoral purpose.
Anthony's directness — what you might call a straightforward, no-cushioning style — means the ideal candidate needs to be emotionally secure. They shouldn't need a lot of hand-holding or reassurance, and they shouldn't mistake directness for harshness. The best fit here is someone who takes honest feedback well, adjusts quickly, and doesn't carry it personally.
Perhaps most importantly, Anthony's core conviction is that the church's work happens through God's strength, not human effort. The Worship Pastor needs to share that conviction — not just intellectually, but in how they lead their team, choose their songs, and approach Sunday mornings. Anthony isn't looking for a talented musician who happens to be a Christian. He's looking for a pastor who happens to be a gifted musician.
Northwest Bible Church is a non-denominational, Bible-centered, evangelical church located in Hilliard, Ohio, a growing suburb on the northwest side of Columbus. The church is led by Lead Pastor Anthony Fusco, who came to Northwest just over two years ago, and is now leading the church through a season of cultural clarity, renewed expectations, and new vision. Northwest meets weekly on Sundays at 9:00 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. and currently sees around 1,000 in attendance.
The church operates within a complementarian framework and holds a high view of Scripture, emphasizing discipleship, family leadership, and the role of the local church in spiritual formation. Northwest places significant value on partnering with parents and equipping families to lead spiritually in the home, with each ministry area serving as a key extension of that mission.
The church is seeking the right candidate to take over as the new Worship Pastor to oversee their worship ministry. The right candidate will have a deep personal life in Christ and the character and capacity that align with the church’s overall mission and vision. Below are the qualifications and responsibilities Froot Group and the church have identified for this role:
Lead Worship Services
Team Development and Leadership
Worship Ministry Planning
Pastoral Care and Administration
Reports to: Executive Pastor
