What We're Looking For

Midlothian Bible Church is a non-denominational church located in Midlothian, TX, 30 minutes south of downtown Dallas. Midlothian is an exploding city that is experiencing exponential growth. The church is led by Lead Pastor Matt Reynolds, who has been the lead pastor at the church for the last seven years. Midlothian Bible currently offers one modern worship styled service at 10:30a on Sunday mornings. The church saw around 400 each Sunday for their main worship services pre-COVID, and are currently seeing around 500 in total Sunday morning attendance. They are currently meeting in person and are also live-streaming their service. 

 

The church is seeking the right candidate to take over as the new Worship Pastor to oversee their worship ministry. The right candidate will have a deep personal life in Christ and the character and capacity that align with the church’s overall mission and vision. Below are the qualifications and responsibilities Froot Group and the church have identified for this role:

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Create and develop a culture of modern and relevant worship that reflects the vision and style of MBC. 
  • Work with the Lead Pastor in creating a philosophy and identity of Worship at MBC.
  • Lead worship on Sunday mornings and various other holiday services that facilitate the congregation’s participation.
  • Develop the weekly planning and production of the services that follow the theme and purpose of the worship service as a whole.
  • Ensure that worship slides are purposeful, look professional, readable by the congregation, and prepared prior to Sunday morning.
  • Lead your worship team:
    • To foster good communication and a strong sense of community among the band members and the A/V volunteers.
    • To deepen each member’s skills and abilities along with that of the entire worship team.
    • Be organized, well-planned and meaningful worship practices whereby you care for them spiritually, emotionally, etc. (i.e., this is your small group).
    • Help worship team members take next steps with Jesus. Be a disciple maker.
  • Invest in the next generation of Christ-followers by helping develop the Youth Worship Team.
  • Be available to lead worship for various ministries throughout the week. Examples: 
    • Regeneration
    • Wednesday Bible Studies
  • Participate in all scheduled staff meetings and staff development times.
  • Possess or be able to learn audio and visual tech skills.  Possibly film, edit, and prepare videos in a professional manner as the need arises.
  • Become knowledgeable in lighting, sound, and presentation software, and be able to assist in these production components when needed.
  • Develop an annual ministry plan and budget for the Worship Team.
  • Continue to develop your personal musical proficiency.
  • Be a team player willing to jump in to help serve when needed or requested.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Can both lead and thrive in a team-based environment.
  • Excellent in leading vocally and with an instrument, preferably guitar.
  • Teachable, responsive, and respectful of authority. A willingness to be discipled and continue to grow in Bible and Theology. 
  • Relationally engaging with others.
  • Have a pastoral presence on the platform with an ability to engage the heart of the people through music and words.
  • Able to create and sustain a strong volunteer culture.
  • A creative-minded person that has a desire to think outside of the box. Can cast vision and achieve goals.
  • Has a working knowledge of running tracks through either Ableton, Prime, Playback, etc. 
  • Education
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred, not required.
  • Experience
    • Preferred candidates will have relative experience leading in some kind of capacity in a relative church to MBC.
