Lifepoint Church is a SBC church located in Mt. Vernon, OH, about 45 minutes northeast of Columbus. The church is led by Lead Pastor Adam Pursel, who planted the church in 2013. Lifepoint offers three identical modern worship styled services at 8:00a, 9:30a, and 11:00a on Sunday mornings. The church is currently seeing around 800 in total Sunday morning attendance, which has doubled over the last two years. They are seeing around 150 kids on average in the kids ministry on Sunday mornings and almost 60 students on Sunday nights.

The church moved into their brand new facility in January 2023, which is located across the street from Mount Vernon’s middle school, high school, career center, and Mount Vernon Nazarene University. The opportunity and potential for family ministry to grow here is extremely high, and Lifepoint has a strong desire to properly resource this ministry in order to best reach families for Jesus and make disciples.

The church is seeking the right candidate to take over as the new Family Pastor to oversee the vision and direction of their family ministries. This person will oversee staff with a strong focus in providing leadership in Lifepoint Kids. The goal of this hire is to accelerate discipleship and evangelism of kids, students and young adults, in partnership with their families, through small group and large group experiences.

The right candidate will have a deep personal life in Christ and the character and capacity to develop culture and grow the family ministries. Below are the requirements and responsibilities Froot Group has identified for this role:

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Commitment to lead the family ministry team (birth through college), including providing the necessary oversight, encouragement, and guidance to promote excellence in the family ministries of Lifepoint Church.
• Commitment to provide oversight for relevant staff (Kids Director and eventually Student Pastor) on their environments and strategy.
• Commitment to provide direction, oversight and accountability of Family Ministry Staff budgets.
• Commitment to help the Family Ministry Staff identify, develop and train leaders for their areas.
• Commitment to create cohesiveness between all family ministries.
• Commitment to ensure safe environments, including ensuring that appropriate background checks have been completed on all relevant persons.
• Commitment to provide vision, leadership and direction for our college ministry team leaders.
• Commitment to being a team player through executing other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Executive Pastor.

• Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years ministry experience in some sort of family ministries capacity (youth, kids, or family ministries executive).
• Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred, but not required.
