What We're Looking For

Hilltop Church is a Nazarene Church located in Northville, MI, a suburb of Detroit. The church is led by Lead Pastor Ben Walls, who has been the lead pastor for 6 years. Hilltop is located on a hill that overlooks the interstate that has many thousands of people who drive past the church every day. There is rich history with the church that dates back a hundred years ago as they just celebrated their centennial birthday. Since Pastor Ben has come on staff, there has been a drive for new vision and direction to focus more on reaching the local communities like never before and truly live out being the hands and feet of Jesus. Pastor Ben has been leading the effort in setting new direction for the next chapter of Hilltop’s ministry.

The church currently has one Sunday morning service at 10:30a, which is currently a more blended worship style, though they are moving towards modernizing their worship experience. Attendance currently runs around 250 each Sunday for their main worship service in person, with many others tuning in on the livestream. The church saw around 400 each Sunday for their main worship service pre-COVID.

The church is seeking the right candidate to take over as the new Worship Director to oversee their worship ministry. The right candidate will have a deep personal life in Christ and the character and capacity that align with the church’s overall mission and vision. Big Picture for Worship Ministry

We want a worship environment that fosters a culture of development that not only pushes the team members to get better themselves, but also multiply themselves as leaders. We want to have a community presence where we are using the gifts of music to bless our community. Our hope is that our staff is non-essential to Sunday mornings. We want a leader that is not afraid to get creative musically that can think outside of the “typical worship box”. Have created a selfless, Christ-centered worship culture within the team and congregation. Our worship engagement has increased across the board significantly as well, with the freedom in the Spirit to flow and allow Him to move freely during our corporate worship.
