Philosophy of Worship
What is your philosophy of worship?

My philosophy of worship does not only pertaining to music. I believe worship encompasses the whole life and also the whole worship service. But when looking at the Music part of worship, I see it as four things depending on the context it is placed in:

1) A time preparation where the music in the worship service setting is setting the stage of another part of the worship service (The Word; Communion; etc.).

2) A time of lament where music is used to usher the heart in place dependency on the Lord as it deals with deep sorrow, grief, or regret.

3) A time of praise where music is declarative and descriptive to and of the Lord.

4) A time of reflection where music is used to follow up a section of the worship service to reflect on something that was said and/or done.

Ideal Relationship with Lead Pastor
How would you describe the ideal relationship between senior/lead pastor and worship leader?

The ideal relationship between senior/lead pastor and worship leader is one of good communication, connection, and trust. When it comes to the leadership of musical worship, it should be a part of the whole picture of the worship service, and the best way to achieve that is through the relationship of the senior/lead pastor and worship leader. They must connect on a relational level where they both can share their hearts when it comes to the whole worship experience (Music; The Word; Communion; etc.) to prepare a service that flows well to glorify the Lord ultimately.
