Desert Song Community Church is a church a part of the Open Bible network of churches located in the heart of Redmond, OR, just north of Bend. The church is led by Lead Pastor Chuck Gustafson, who has been on staff in this role for 7 years. Desert Song offers two identical modern worship styled services at 9:00a & 10:30a on Sunday mornings. The church is currently seeing around 250 in total Sunday morning attendance. 

Desert Song is a church for their community, and they live that out through the various ministries they facilitate, such as their homeless pantry that serves many in need of everyday essentials. They are also a church for discipleship, and show a strong focus in that through their Community Groups that meet in homes and fellowship groups that meet at the church. 

The church is seeking the right candidate to take over as the new Worship Pastor to oversee their worship ministry. The right candidate will have a deep personal life in Christ and the character and capacity that align with the church’s overall mission and vision. Below are the qualifications and responsibilities Froot Group and the church have identified for this role:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Worship Leader: Lead, disciple, and manage the worship team volunteers and staff, overseeing the coordination of practices, training, and team-building activities.
• Service Coordination: Oversee the scheduling and execution of all worship services, ensuring a cohesive and spiritually enriching experience for the congregation.
• Worship Tech Oversight: Manage the technical aspects of worship, including stage, recording, livestream quality, and sound production, in collaboration with the sound/tech team.
• Creative Arts & Audio Department: Lead and supervise the Creative Arts and Audio teams, including scheduling, training, and regular meetings to foster growth and excellence.
• Project Planning: Develop and implement worship-related projects and departmental goals, contributing to the overall mission of the church.
• Pastoral Duties: Provide pastoral care with discretion and confidentiality, fulfilling the duties of a pastor with commitment and integrity.
• Church Involvement: Fully embrace and support the mission, values, and various ministries and events of Desert Song Community Church.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Meet the biblical qualifications of a servant leader as outlined in I Timothy 3:1-13.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Google Calendar, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Word/Excel, ProPresenter, Planning Center, soundboard operation, and livestream mixing.
• Musical Ability: Proficiency in voice and a worship relative instrument, preferably guitar, with the ability to lead worship effectively with a team.
• Leadership Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects, lead a team, and create a worship experience that resonates with the congregation.
• Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with a heart of a servant and a positive attitude.
• Church Integration: Willingness to become a member of Desert Song by completing the Growth Track and meeting the expectations set by the church, including tithing and maintaining regular office hours.
• Has a working knowledge of running tracks through either Ableton, Prime, Playback, etc. 
• Education
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, not required.
• Experience
  • Preferred candidates will have 3 - 5 years of relative experience leading worship.
