Philosophy of Worship
What is your philosophy of worship?

God has called all Christians to make disciples (Matthew 28:19), and I specifically feel called to make disciples through worship ministry. God has given me a passion for his people, for making disciples, and for music. I seek to use the talents He has given me to bring Him glory. My goal in worship ministry is to meet people wherever they are in their relationship with Christ, and to help them grow deeper in that relationship. In a congregational setting, it is important to prepare a worship service that is engaging, biblically based, and Godhonoring. Services must be intentionally planned to magnify Christ and the beauty of the Gospel, and “let the word of Christ dwell richly among you…” (Colossians 3:16). Worship services must be executed with excellence. A worship leader should be well prepared both spiritually and musically in order to not be a distraction to the congregation. As a worship leader, I believe that it is my responsibility to shepherd others by living a life of worship and encouraging them to do the same. One way that I have the opportunity to do this is by working with the worship team. By recruiting, training, and leading the team, I am able to pour myself into their lives and to see them grow spiritually. Another aspect of worship ministry that I am passionate about is training up the next generation of worship leaders. I have a deep desire to invest in the lives of young worship leaders to see them grow into godly, humble, and passionate leaders.

Ideal Relationship with Lead Pastor
How would you describe the ideal relationship between senior/lead pastor and worship leader?

When I consider the ideal relationship between a senior/lead pastor and a worship leader, I believe it is important for both leaders to be like-minded in their approach to ministry. Ultimately the senior/lead pastor is the primary leader and visionary of the church, and the worship leader’s role is to support the lead pastor’s vision. Having an open line of communication between the two is crucial to success. I also feel that humility in both leaders, as well as mutual respect, is important. Ideally, the two would enjoy spending time together to strengthen their relationship.
