Bethany Church (Bethany) is a multi-generational church associated with the Venture Church Network (formerly the Conservative Baptist Association). They exist to glorify God and see people transformed into passionate disciples of Jesus. The church is elder-led and pastored by Ben Overby. Pastor Ben accepted the call to serve as Lead Pastor in 2023. Bethany worships at 10:30 AM on Sunday mornings. The church averages more than 320 in attendance between worship and kids ministry on Sunday morning. 

Bethany is a Christ-centered, Bible-believing community passionate about making disciples who love God, love others, and serve both. Their mission is lived out through connecting people to Jesus and each other, growing in spiritual maturity, and going out to serve the world. Bethany values strong biblical teaching, intergenerational discipleship, relational ministry, and excellence in all areas of church life. The church is seeking the right candidate to lead as the new Worship Pastor. The right candidate will have a deep personal life in Christ and the character and capacity that align with the church’s overall mission and vision. The Worship Pastor will work closely with the Lead Pastor to fulfill their role. Below are the qualifications and responsibilities Froot Group and the church have identified for this role:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead Bethany Church in worship during regular Sunday gatherings through songs and other elements to see and understand the fullness of God and the gospel.
• Exemplify what it means to live a life of worship to the congregation through modeling, guiding, and teaching what it means to worship God in all of life.
• Plan, oversee, and direct rehearsals.
• Identify, recruit, equip, and develop volunteers for Worship and Tech Teams - including Band, Lighting, Sound, and Media. 
• Work with staff and volunteers to help facilitate worship in other gatherings such as Student Ministry, Good Friday, Christmas Eve, School Chapel, Time of Prayer, etc.
• Coordinate creative teams and elements to create a cohesive feel between all elements of the service - both online and in-person. 
• Maintain all instruments, sound and lighting systems.
• Assist in developing the annual budget for the Worship and Tech ministry.
• Manage spending.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must become an active member of Bethany Church.
• Must adhere to the Statement of Faith of Bethany Church.

• Must be a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions toward others.
• Must have a passion for leading others to see the goodness of God and the gospel.
• Must be effective in communicating in a team environment, possess good decision-making skills, and be effective in staying organized.  
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

• Education
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Worship Ministry or Biblical Studies preferred, not required.
• Experience
  • 3+ years of full-time ministry experience preferred.
