Student Pastor Questionnaire Responses
Personal Info
Please share briefly how you became a Christian.
There’s nothing I did, but simply responded to God’s calling in my life when He gifted me with faith when I was 18 which allowed me to see His mercy, grace, and love like never before. Ever since then, I have been living a different lifestyle that is not conformed to the ways of this world and shared the hope that is in the truth of the good news of Christ.

ESFJ; 7, 5, 1; restorative, responsibility, includer, analytical, learner
Tell me about some people (i.e. authors, mentors, and ministry leaders) that have had a big impact on you.
Athanasius, Gregory of Nazianzus, David Bañales (lead pastor of the church I grew up), Matthew Kim (professor at GCTS), Paul Washer, Matt Chandler, Francis Chan, David Platt
Parents/Volunteers
How do you plan to engage and inform parents or guardians about your ministry objectives and progress?
emails, church announcements and both casual and formal meetings
Tell me about a time when you developed a new team of volunteers into a strong working group. What did you do?
I co-led three different groups to Mexico where we visited many places there to share the good news, worship, pray, and fellowship with those we interacted with. Myself and the team prayed as well before heading to the site for protection, guidance, wisdom and God’s presence. I had to make sure everyone was on the same page; I was supervising my team and the site at the same time. I was available for anyone who had questions or comments and on occasion translated or drove the van.
How would you alleviate the confusion when you are communicating with volunteers and it becomes apparent that they don’t understand what you’re saying or vice versa?
I would ask if I am making sense and repeat what I said in other words until the team fully understands what is being transmitted. On the other hand, if was having a hard time understanding what some of the volunteer team members is saying I would ask him/her that I am confused, say what I understand, and hear for another explanation.
Spiritual Growth
Once you lead a student/child to Christ, how do you communicate their decision to their parents? Once a child accepts Christ as their Savior, how do you begin discipling them?
